Sainted Paul the Confessor

Commemorated on March 7

Sainted Paul the Confessor was bishop of the city of Prusiada (a province of Bithynia in Asia Minor) at a time, when the iconoclasts raged against the faith of Christ. Zealously having entered into the defense of Christian holy things on the basis of the word of Holy Scripture, Saint Paul was subjected to harassment and persecution together with Saint Theophylaktos (Comm. 8 March). The holy confessor reposed in about the year 850.
