E-mail: Contact 		Hello, I found your site via Google and often visit and subscribe to your YouTube channel. Orthodoxy is in our family history as well. My Grandparents came to Canada in 1928, and for some reason it was lost for a generation or two but recently my family and I have decided to revive it and have become catechumens in our local Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It has been the best decision we ever made and since our priest looks after 5 other parishes, we only have 2 or 3 services a month so I rely on your and other sites to keep in touch with the faith. Thank you for becoming a part of our Christian life! God Bless!

E-mail: Contact 		Last night I was blessed to participate in Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers at Holy Cross Orthodox Church (in Linthecum, MD…my home parish…and where just three weeks ago I was chrismated!!). Although I was over two years in the catechumenate…this was my first experience of Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers.
If experiencing this service for the first time wasn’t amazing enough…it happens that Metropolitan Jonah was with us to preside, and to speak. After the service, your Fr. John was given time to announce upcoming Lenten Pan-Orthodox, Passion Vespers services…the first, to be held next Sunday at your parish. A bit later I found myself sitting across the table from one of your parishioners…a very nice gentleman with this deep, beautiful accent…who patiently answered my mindlessly rapid-fire questions about the accent, your parish, his “background” in the Church, etc.

Imagine for a second…this possibly obnoxious, certainly gushing new convert…already awed and humbled to have found The Church actually existing…been welcomed to become part of her…grateful beyond words to have found Holy Cross...and vaguely aware that other Orthodox Churches are somewhere nearby...but only really as a concept. Then happens Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers!! p*** from all around celebrating together this event..and somehow, amazingly...they are each also my priest; Metropolitan Jonah of the OCA presiding…then later speaking on Orthodox Unity...pushing my spinning mind into yet further awareness of what The Church means; Fr. John announcing Passion Vespers services beginning next Sunday...and so glad for these...these services I'd not known I wanted/needed to participate in; “happening” to sit with one of Fr. John’s parishioners as he told of having to meet for services in secret most of his life...inwardly struck dumb by how unworthy I am for the gift I've been given; looking across the hall at this diverse and wonderful mix of folks…p***, nuns, people I know well…people I’ve never met, but somehow, suddenly, am deeply connected to. As I scanned the hall just before leaving I was so very glad there will be PassionVespers at Holy Trinity next Sunday! Glory to God!
